Strong (R3) Flare Activity Observed - 29 July 2024
published: Thursday, August 01, 2024 14:01 UTC

An impulsive X1.5 (R3-Strong) solar flare was observed at 29/0233 UTC from SWPC Region 3764 (S05W04). Accompanying this event were a 300 sfu Tenflare and a Type-II radio sweep with an estimated velocity of 535 km/s. Forecasters are awaiting coronagraph imagery to determine if an Earth-directed CME follows this activity.
