Shock Arrival at ACE
An interplanetary shock arrived at the ACE satellite on 31 Dec/0002 UTC (30 Dec/1702 EST) associated with the expected arrival of the 28 Dec coronal mass ejection (CME). At 31/0051 UTC, magnetometers around the globe recorded a geomagnetic sudden impulse ranging in strength from about 20-35 nT signaling the arrival of the CME at Earth. Magnetometers are currently recording unsettled to active conditions. A G1 (Minor) Warning is currently in effect along with a G3 (Strong) Watch for 31 December. Stay tuned here for further updates as this event evolves.
