G2 Moderate Storm Warning Issued

G2 Moderate Storm Warning. Aurora viewing line forecast.
G2 Moderate Storm Warning Issued
published: Wednesday, September 13, 2023 18:14 UTC

At approximately 12/1222 UTC (0622 MDT), several of Earth's magnetometers indicated the likely arrival of a coronal mass ejection (CME). In response, the Earth's geomagnetic field began to react, prompting a G2 (Moderate) geomagnetic storm warning to be issued. While most impacts will be relatively minor, there is an increased likelihood of seeing the aurora at higher latitudes if conditions are right (dark, clear skies, clear viewing area). Stay tuned to our webpage for updates and further warnings and alerts, if needed.
