CH HSS to connect with Earth on 6 Jan - G1 conditions likely
G1 (Minor) Watch issued for 6 January 2016

A recurrent coronal hole high speed stream (CH HSS) is expected to become geoeffective with Earth late on 6 January, 2016, and the geomagnetic response is likely to reach G1 (Minor) storming levels. Solar wind speeds from this recurrent CH HSS reached over 650 km/s last rotation (about 27 days ago) and measurements from the STEREO-A spacecraft approximately 2 weeks ago observed similar speeds.
