G1-G2 Storming on 7 & 8 November, 2017
An extension of a northern, polar coronal hole high speed stream (CH HSS) continues to buffet Earth's magnetosphere causing overall, planetary geomagnetic responses to the G1 (Minor) and G2 (Moderate) storming levels. The G2 storming level was first reached on 7 November, 2017 at 1921 UTC (1421 ET) and was most recently reached on 8 November, 2017 at 0429 UTC (7 Nov/2329 ET). Periods of G1 storming first began on 7 November, 2017 at 1155 UTC (0655 ET). A G1 Watch now continues today through 11 November, 2017 due to elevated solar wind speed from the CH HSS.
