The return of the X-flares

Active Region 3217 produced an R3 radio blackout

(i.e. X1.1 flare) which peaked at 1548 UTC or 10:48am EST.

More flares are expected from this region as it moves across the sun creating occasional degradation of high frequency (3-30 MHz) communication.
