G1 (Minor) Storm Watch continues for 30 and 31 August
The G1 (Minor) geomagnetic storm watch continues for 30 August, and is now also in effect for the 31 August UTC-day. Higher solar wind speeds coupled with periods of favorable interplanetary magnetic field orientation is likely to result in isolated periods of minor storming conditions. The increased solar wind speeds are a result of a coronal hole high speed stream (CH HSS) that moved into a favorable Earth-effective position early on 30 August. The disturbed and enhanced solar wind environment has resulted in recent periods of overall active conditions, with minor storming at higher latitudes.
