Region 2422 Produces an M7 Flare (R2-Moderate)

Region 2422 (S23W28) produced an impulsive M7/1b flare (R2-Moderate). The flare began at 28/1453 UTC, peaked at 28/1458 UTC and ended at 28/1503 UTC. Due to the lack of significant radio signatures and the impulsive nature of the flare we are not anticipating an associated Earth-directed coronal mass ejection (CME) from this event. SWPC forecasters will continue to monitor available satellite imagery and update our forecast as necessary.
