G1-Minor Geomagnetic Storms In Progress
published: Monday, July 06, 2015 15:55 UTC

A coronal hole is now in a geoeffective position and G1-Minor geomagnetic storms commenced at 1935 UTC (3:35pm ET) on this 4th of July 2015. Coronal hole effects include higher than normal solar wind speeds and increased magnetic field strength. The storms arrived a little ahead of schedule but are expected to persist into tomorrow before solar wind speeds begin their return to nominal levels.
